Tarot

Tarot is often misconstrued as simply a method of “predicting the future”, but this is only partially true. Spirit can communicate with us in many ways through symbols, signs, feelings, and synchronicities. Tarot cards have been used for thousands of years as a way to more directly get messages from the Divine. It’s not the actual cards that hold the “magic” but the person utilizing the cards. By tapping into your energy, a tarot reader is able to deliver to you specific messages that your higher self wants you to know.

A tarot deck consists of 78 cards split into two groups: The Major Arcana and The Minor Arcana. There are 22 Major Arcana cards and they represent the journey through the psyche. Each card stands for a specific stage of that journey and the energy that comes along with it. The other 56 cards are the Minor Arcana. These cards are grouped into 4 suits: Swords, Wands, Cups and Pentacles. Sword cards are often related to subjects of the mind and intellect. The Wands represent action and creativity. The Cup cards are the cards related to emotions. The Pentacles cards generally stand for matters of a physical nature.

More than anything, tarot reading is about using your intuition. The Divine speaks through the imagery and energy of the cards to send you messages. The key to this practice is the ability to listen and trust in the intuitive messages you receive. We all have a connection to spirit, it’s just learning to strengthen it that can be challenging. This is something that I work on with some of my clients in my Spiritual Advising container. Anyone can learn tarot with some practice and dedication!

I personally do an energy reading for myself every morning, asking the divine for any insight I may need in my day. I find them extremely useful, especially in tough situations when I need a little guidance and/or direction.
